The magnificent beauty surrounded by the peninsula and many islands is none other than Italy. A place where people get lost in those pixie-dusted roads and adore its breathtaking beauty.

I personally visited Italy last summer and was mesmerized in its lush cultural heritage and charming canals of Venice. I remember how obsessed I was with this travel destination!

Travel to Italy

Are you a hodophile? The one who loves traveling more than anything?

Then you definitely need to visit Italy, the European’s startling asset.

What makes Italy different from others is the narrow roads just available for people who love to walk a long way and cherish every moment. Whenever I look back at the trip, the one memory that pops up every time, is the 30-meter long narrow road that welcomed me and led me to the steep hills of Amalfi Coast. Gosh! The view from that hill was literally God’s art, giving a glimpse of the Mediterranean Sea and pastel-painted villages in the valley region.

Yet, you have not visited Italy and still searching for reasons to catch sight of the prehistoric land. You definitely need to keep scrolling down!

Expectations of traveling to Italy Vs Reality

You know what we see through the lens is captured without showing the actual hurdles and obstacles behind it. Just because it seems pretty, does not mean you can do whatever you want and however you can. There is always a manner, a working phenomenon behind such famous cities and travel destinations that you must know before expecting anything.

Here are some reality checks that I got and thought of sharing these with you:

The idea of getting lost in the streets of Italy isn’t that beautiful after all!

You must be thinking that getting lost in the way is romantic, but it was not for me! Yes, you heard it right!

I got lost on my way back to the hotel and it took me 5 more hours to reach there. That literally drained my energy and changed my mood.

So you must have an offline map with you to avoid unhappy situations like this. Even with an offline map, you still can experience the vibes of getting lost.

Italy- a combination of land and sea

The canals of Venice with their cultural music instrument being played as background music- isn’t this idea just perfect for calming yourself and re-energizing your soul power!

These canals are not just running water, but they provide a home for marine life. It is the natural habitat for silverfish, ducks, and dolphins. Feel the sensation of cruise and local boat riding simultaneously!

When you visit Italy, ride a boat, and explore every spot. Don’t forget the main places: Sicily, Sardinia, Elba, and Levanzo, these will never disappoint you!

Expect a Gelato ice cream and drink at every corner

The perk of traveling to Italy is that you get to see a gelato and drink on almost every street. One of the eco-friendly practices of Italy is that it has integrated reusable drinking bottles.

Unlike in every other country in the world, you witness this fact only in Italy!

The morning breakfast is always something sweet and it brightens your day. Eating a pastry or pancakes with honey and berries toppings gets dissolved in your body and mixes in your hormonal circulation- boosting the levels of serotonin and making you feel happy and content.

Whereas the dinner table is always classy and traditional that relaxes and calms you down. If you were to visit a restaurant, the mood over there would be quite charming and delightful.

How you should behave?

You must know how Italian locals greet each other. Italians consider people rude if they pass them by without modest greetings.

Speaking of greetings, they give a slight hug with two kisses that makes you feel as if you are their family. They are never afraid of saying hello.

How you should behave while having dinner and pizza- the pizza case is strange for you. Italians do not accept you if you ask for ketchup to put it on the pizza. You’d look weird and they will consider you strange.

Don’t stress yourself over this! I was able to connect to their local people even I couldn’t communicate with them properly, but people who make themselves comfortable are always welcomed by Italians. That’s how you have to behave!

Top 5 destinations in Italy

A little jaunt to the coast, you will explore a diversity of things and places, in spite of that, it is unreal to say that travel each and every corner of Italy in just one visit. So just for updating your information, I have touched upon those destinations which are famous and loved by many tourists. These are some places that are labeled as must-visit ones.

Destination # 1: Lake Garda In Trentino, Italy

Don’t forget to hike the Ponale when in Lake Garda! Someone like whose major portion of time was spent eating classic Italian pasta and hiking on the hills that surround the Lake Garda in Trentino.

The main and beautiful feature of this lake is “Route”. One leads onto the other and at the end of these, a vast serene water pool is experienced by our eyes.

Destination # 2: Rome

Rome has always been historical from ancient times, and you will be astonished to see those old times and buildings.

I don’t know if you have ever heard of this but most of the world’s remarkable landmarks are present in Rome like Sistine Chapel, the Colosseum, and the Vatican.

My memory of Rome is all about experiencing the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain, the Vatican, and the Borghese Museum.

Destination # 3: Florence

Florence is a place loaded with museums. Like this land, Firenze gave birth to the Renaissance era and has witnessed the royal courts. The spectacular views to experience in Florence are Michelangelo’s David Sculpture, placed in Galleria dell’Accademia, an art museum located there namely Uffizi Gallery, and the Brunelleschi’s Dome, famous for its mural (architectural achievements).

Each of them has a pretty impressive history linked with them, and you will be intrigued to learn about them- I can bet!

Destination # 4: Tuscan City

Take a stroll in the hillside towns of Tuscan!

In amidst vineyard and rolling moors, the small Tuscany houses are a view to observe. The loveliest municipalities in Tuscan are Montalcino, Pienza, and Volterra.

I stayed there for like 3 to 4 days and rode a bike from Siena to Florence, watching the sunset as I reached Florence.

Destination # 5: Mantua & Venice

Mantua city has stored within itself a vast history of 4000 years. You must explore the Lombardy areas of Mantua which is a mix of present age technologies and historical events.

Although most of the time, Venice and Milan grab the attention, but that does not mean that Mantua is less than them. Venice is famous for its dual combo of land and water while Mantua is famous for its overloaded history. Milan is mostly known for its trip from there to Amalfi Coast.

You can surely figure out my feelings for Italy and its overloaded beauty and content. That I can say “Italy has stolen my heart and is ready to steal yours!”
